A sign that reduces violence

...not the violence it self. But to prevent it from going wrong many times.

When you need help, or want to help

How does the iSign work then?

If you need help

If you feel you need help when you are under threat and you do not dare (or can) raise your voice. Show the sign as clearly as you can without showing the one who's threatening you. If we assume that most people know what this sign means, there is a good chance that someone will come to rescue and ask if everything is ok with you.

When you want to help

You want to help or intervene and you are afraid to raise your voice as you may be exposed to danger yourself. Show the sign clearly to the environment (without the perpetrators seeing it), when you see that more people show the sign, then you know that you are not alone.

..there are more ways to use the sign

The sign that might help when you´re out of words..

Lets start now...

It is so simple yet so difficult to help or ask for help.

In most situations, we stand up for each other and raise our voices, say no, or ask for help.

But unfortunately it is becoming more and more common that we do not, we hesitate. Mostly out of fear, I guess, but also that we are not used to intervening in the same way as before. There are horror scenarios when people have been beaten and even raped in crowded subways. And not daring to shout for help in a crowded park or concert.

I'm not saying that this sign will remove all violence (wish it did), but I think it will clarify and do so we more often help and dare to ask for help.

There is already a finger that we all too often use to show some anger and disgust, so it is good if there is a finger that stands for humanity and community as well. So let's spread this message to everyone we know, family, schools, relatives, friends, jobs, everyone.
